Our story

Hi, I’m Andy, owner and lead trainer at Falkirk Dog Training.

My journey into dog training began in 2021 when I brought home my chocolate boy, Bane, a six month old Cane Corso cross. With little to no training our first walk home, he pulled me all the way and it definitely wasn’t fun! That experience opened my eyes to Bane needing a lot of work and I realised that if things were going to change, I needed to put in the work as I had no intention of struggling like that again.

Fast forward to 2023, I moved back home to Falkirk from London and, after falling in love with the Cane Corso breed thanks to Bane’s temperament, I welcomed another Corso into my life and called her Mako. Like Pringles… once you pop, you can’t stop! In June 2024 came Xena, Attanna, and December 2024 Bear. In February 2025, Bane and Mako had a litter of puppies, and my daughter proudly kept one. Between us, we now share our home with six dogs.

I began seeking out experienced trainers with specific Cane Corso expertise, learning from the likes of Will Atherton and Cesar Millan. Through this, I discovered a balanced, practical approach to training that completely transformed not only my dogs, but also me as an owner and handler.

Like many dog owners, I’ve experienced feeling overwhelmed when behavioural and training challenges started to impact everyday life. Alongside this, I was navigating my own mental health journey which led me to Reiki. Reiki gave me space to heal myself and find peace for the first time in my life. It helped me that much I decided to do my practitioners course, I thought why not try it on my dogs and they love it! Those combinations gave me a deep understanding of struggle, patience, structure, and growth and made me realise I had something meaningful to offer the dog training world with a twist.

Today, I live with four Cane Corsos and two Corso crosses, where calm behaviour, clear rules, boundaries, and expectations aren’t optional, they’re essential. Living and working with powerful breeds has taught me the true importance of leadership, consistency, structured training, and clear communication.

My mission is simple: to help owners regain control, confidence, and enjoyment in life with their dogs, no matter the breed or the challenge.

At Falkirk Dog Training we work with puppies, reactive dogs and adult dogs that need behaviour modification, helping overwhelmed dog parents turn daily struggles into calm walks, peaceful homes and yes more snuggles. Our approach is balanced, compassionate and no nonsense, focusing on clear rules, boundaries and expectations while building trust, confidence and a stronger bond between you and your dog.

We believe great training isn't about harsh methods or quick fixes, it's about leadership, love and understanding what your dog needs to succeed. No judgement, no gimmicks, just honest practical guidance, practical tools and support every step of the way.

when dogs understand what is expected of them, they will make better decisions which will allow them to relax more and so can you!
